Modifying Scheduled Reports In Google Analytics

If you have dabbled with scheduling reports in Google Analytics, you’ll know how frustrating it is to keep receiving reports you are no longer interested in. A couple of months ago I tested out the scheduling feature myself and set up a schedule to send two reports to myself daily. Since then, I’ve been receiving these reports every day and I have no interest in them whatsoever. Removing the schedule is not an intuitive task, however.
Modifying Existing Scheduled Reports
If you need to do this yourself, here are the steps you need to follow to modify existing report schedules:
- View the reports you’re interested in.
- In the menu on the left, in the settings section click Email.
- There you will see a list of existing reports that are scheduled to be emailed.
- To delete a schedule, click the trash can on the right and click OK to confirm you want to delete it.
- To modify the schedule, click on it, make the changes and then click Save. Your changes will take effect next time the report is emailed.
Why the facility to manage existing schedules isn’t in the same place you create schedules is beyond me. It would make more sense to have both create and modify functionality in the same place, in my opinion. Maybe we’ll see this rationalisation in the next release of Google Analytics.
